RFQs: Making the process simpler, and better

We’re expediting Quote Generation by removing unnecessary barriers when Requesting a Quote.

At Knowde, we’re bringing the speed, ease, and convenience of a modern e-commerce experience to the chemical industry. Requesting Quotes is an important and, at times, a time-consuming part of this journey. In order to facilitate rapid customer-supplier communication, we’re removing some of the pain points associated with RFQ submission.

In the RFQ form, customers are asked to specify their intended shipping location. Initially, we accounted for this by allowing customers to add addresses to their profile, but we recently realized those addresses have the potential to change frequently. In order for customers to submit an RFQ, they would have to select their pre-established address, and we needed to add flexibility here required for such a complex and disseminated industry.

Now, during the RFQ process, customers on Knowde can choose to add new addresses or change their existing addresses. Customers no longer have to interrupt their request process to keep their own profile records up to date–they can simply enter a different location into the RFQ form and submit their request. This change will reduce the amount of time it takes to submit an RFQ and help customers hear back on their requests faster, while ensuring we continue to provide suppliers with accurate address information and keep additional locations on file for each customer.

This change helps support R&D professionals, procurement teams, and more working to identify products of interest for manufacturing locations across the globe. In addition to this update, we recently upgraded the UI with a sleek new design that guides Knowde’s customers through the RFQ submission process.

We’re excited to provide our users with a faster and easier experience and continue reducing the time between their initial interest in a product and their connection with the relevant chemical supplier sales team.

Before Knowde, the entire RFQ process was time-consuming, overcomplicated, and frustrating for professionals in the chemical industry. Often, a quote required multiple phone calls, emails, or faxes before information was settled and finalized. With this update, we’re continuing to give customers and chemical suppliers time back in their days.
